Special Music
Fountain Valley Corps Original Music
The Fountain Valley Praise Orchestra plays every Sunday service, outreach events in the region, and provides monthly music for invalids and shut-ins as a service outreach in addition to the long standing service tradition of The Salvation Army.
Who Will Pray (original song by Todd Althar)
Loren sits by the window watching the cars go by,
She thinks of the night before and tears fill her eyes,
She can't believe that she's done it again,
Met a new guy and went home with him,
The emptiness inside seems to grow,
There's got to be more to this life, she just knows.
Who'll pray for her?
Big Joe stands out in his front yard, staring at the grass,
Sunday morning, time to mow, he sees a car drive past,
The yard's not the same without the kids at play,
How could his wife have taken them all away?
He hangs his head down and starts to cry,
Is this all life is, he asks, "just live and die?"
Who'll pray for him?
Do we stop to think of those who we pass by?
Do we care that for those the Lord does cry?
Do we take the time to consider those lost, and pray?
And ask the Lord above to send a believer their way?
Do we pray?
Grandma Mae sits by the window sipping on her tea,
Her mind is sharp as ever, but her eyes can barely see,
Age has a way of taking its toll,
She used to be at church whether rain or snow,
Now she can only attend with the help of a friend.
She wonders, "is this all there is until the end?"
Grandma Mae's thoughts are disturbed by the sound of a phone
Karen's headed out church, and she hates to sit alone,
She said while she was praying, Mae's name came to her in a special way,
Mae thanks the Lord above for saints who pray.
Children With the Saviour in the Sky Musical portrait of imagery from the Hubble telescope, artwork of Michelangelo, and the spiritual meaning of the mission of Christ the Healer in these troubled times over care of human health and spirit. Written for the children of Columbine High School, and premiered by The Columbine Choir. Children, come to Jesus. Children seek the Saviour Who is true. Gathering around Him, asking Him to tell them what to do. "Love your God with all your heart. Love your neighbor as yourself. Verily I say this unto you"
Bridge Unto the Father Crossing any bridge is an act of faith. Might be a bridge over a crevasse, or deep water, or from a private to a public option that benefits people. It can be a passage from high school to college, or a career into retirement. Standing still is the only bridge to nowhere. Jesus Christ is a Bridge unto the Father. On His bridge, you are safe from the risk and peril below, and have access to the Father.
Painting Day A joint effort of fellowship and work in support of effort do the most good.
Saviour Lead Me Lyrics by Frank M Davis, Music by Inness, this is a Salvationist hymn plea for Christ's help, which becomes possible when we as His receivers, make Him visible for the needy and desperate through Heart to God, hand to man, doing the most good. Saviour lead me lest I stray! Saviour lead me all the way!
Doubting Thomas God is invisible until a Receiver pulls His love out of the air like a radio or television wave, and gives it to someone. Just because God isn't visible, audible, tangible, with a taste and scent we can detect, doesn't mean He isn't there. Radio and television waves defy the senses until a receiver makes them possible. Are you a receiver? As a servant of Christ, you are a transceiver who makes an otherwise invisible Christ visible.
Food Dance A brief look at the role of The Salvation Army effort to feed and shelter the desperate and poor. TSA served doughnuts to soldiers during World War I, and following the war their demand introduced doughnuts to America.
Honor Code in Christ A heroic song challenging imitation of that which is good, and flight from that which is evil, rooted in the truth of Christ, based on a Christian Honor Code; "I will not lie, steal, or cheat, and will not imitate evil, but will imitate that which is good."
Sermon on the Mount Who was this man? Was He who he claimed? By what authority? Does His message have meaning in the 21st Century? Music begins "Hebrew" and full of tension, mistrust, and doubt. Trumpets are instruments of death. Gentile verses sing with simple melody by fife and trumpet. Differences struggle over keys to merge two vastly different cultures. Final moments are orchestrated as lifting and lifted, looking up into peace. .
Hindsight Hindsight is 20/20. It is easy to see what decision should have been made. Foresight is a blurry watercolor of choices, at best 50/50. How do you make a good decision? Ever make a bad decision? Key is to look for goodness. In goodness, decisions will always be right. Christ is goodness, and when made the center of any decision, blesses it and makes it a good one.
TSA Salvation Rap Rap and Christ? Full lyrics inside. New York City. Music and beats are all here- do the lyrics as written or improvise. Go for it. May not be the choice cup, and maybe it is. What ever, it is our choice, and our duty not to judge others for their choice. When children, we do childish things. When mature, we put childish things away. Of every gift people have, none is more powerful than love.
Eloi Eloi Lama Sabachthani The last words Christ spoke, from the Cross, "Eloi, Eloi, Lama Sabachthani!" - "My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me" (Psalm 22). Deep, dark, brooding, and troubling. Hope is abandoned. The light of the world is snuffed out. The music of the spheres is silenced. All is lost. Where do we turn in such a time?
Bringing together the Passover, The Last Supper, and The Holocaust, for commitment to say Never Again! Never Again shall evils around which these events were twisted and wrapped, have power over the good in us. We will give heart to God, hand to man, to do the most good for people, and be good stewards of what we have, no matter what!
Lyrics to the Music-
"Never again shall Jesus Christ have to die,
and have His flesh torn for me!
Never again shall Jesus Christ have to die,
and have His blood spilled for me!
How great is Thy Name, Oh Lord!
How Great is Thy Name,
Oh Spotless Lamb,
My Master,
The Great IAM!"
God's Particle The music uses overtone resonances from Higgs Boson harmonic signatures that began a billionth of a second after the Big Bang, and continued to sing through the first celestial day, until at the right moment, (~300,000 years after the Big Bang) the universal temperature cooled so rapidly fluxed subatomic particles congealed into hydrogen and helium atoms. In the instantaneous, universe-wide moment, radiation became transparent and suddenly, rationally, miraculously, everywhere, there was light. Need more evidence?
Silent Night Holy Night Peace. In this recording, a concept was borrowed from Beethoven and the Missa Solemnis, deliberately building the work in contemporary harmony toward one final unexpressed resolution represented by one and only one word.
